About Codex Forever
Codex Forever is a free guide to the classes of World of Warcraft: Forever, written in English, Portuguese and Spanish. It's for players who want to pick a class before launch day, and for anyone who wants to see what Forever changes for the class they already play.
What you'll find
- A page for each of the nine classes, with its roles, armor, races and difficulty.
- Each spec explained, with the talents that are new in Forever highlighted.
- A talent calculator with an example build for every spec, and a link you can share.
- A rotation for every spec, and the professions we recommend for each class.
- The class spellbook, with every ability up to level 60 and the level each rank is learned at.
How it's made
- Beta data. Talents, ranks, abilities and their texts come from the Forever beta client through Talents Forever, which shares them under the CC BY 4.0 license. The calculator loads that data live.
- Blizzard's posts. The launch time, the key dates, the races and the new features come from Blizzard's own announcements, linked at the bottom of every page.
- Our own work. The guides, the example builds, the rotations, the profession picks and the Portuguese and Spanish translations are written for this site. In a translated text, the numbers are read from the game's own text, so they stay right when the beta changes a value.
Codex Forever is an unofficial fan guide, not affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment. Artwork, icons and videos belong to Blizzard and load from Blizzard's servers, Wowhead and Warcraft Wiki.
How it's kept up to date
The beta still changes, and the guide follows it. When new data comes out, we compare it with the version our translations were made from, update the talents, builds and texts that changed, and list each release on the Updates page.
Found something wrong?
If a number, a translation or a build looks off, write to us with the page address. Reports like that are how mistakes get fixed in the next update.
